If you know anything about me and my blog, you know that I love purple! Purple makes me feel calm and tranquil. When I walk into a room filled with purple decor, I feel serene and peaceful! If you've ever looked up some of the traits of a lover of purple, it says: "You are creative and like to be individual in most of your endeavors, including your dress and home decoration - you love the unconventional." That's me folks! So I didn't hesitate to decorate another tree in purple for our Festive Christmas Ideas Blog Hop!

For as long as I have been decorating Christmas trees, I've always had purple somewhere on it! It pairs so well with other Christmas colors like gold and silver. And it blends in with any type of tree, too. Traditional (green), white, and flocked, etc.

So let's begin decorating this small flocked tree. I got it a few years ago from Walmart for thirty dollars. You really get a bang for your bucks with this one. There were no lights on it, so I had to add them. I put on four sets of lights - and you know I checked them first to make sure they would light - check out what happen when I lit the tree - a few photos down!
Then I started adding the largest ornaments I intended on using  - a group of glittery silver and purple ones. Really pretty!

Next came an assortment of plain bulbs in different sizes - layering the ornaments in different depths along and in-between the branches.
And with the crystal and purple snowflake top!

I love these variegated colors poinsettia flowers! They add dimension with their pretty colors!

So when I turned on the lights, the very first set I put on did not work - and I tested them, too! Hence, the dull lighted top! I'll switch them out soon! This room gets a lot of natural light throughout the day and the sun sets right outside of these windows. So picture taking is quite the challenge.

Gift wrapped boxes are always an easy and inexpensive way to coordinate the color scheme of holiday decor!

Hope you enjoyed my purple hues tree!
Thanks for stopping by and have a  great holiday season!

  1. You have such a lovely spot for your tree. I am moving furniture every year for mine. Good exercise before the Christmas binge.

    1. Thanks, Vicky! I did move two chairs and a table that usually sit in that area. Lots of exercising is about right! I'm already worn out!

    1. Thanks, Julie! My tree skirt had flakes from the flocked branches and it was not a pretty site. I tried scraping them off but it was taking too long, so I put the wrapped boxes under the tree instead! Flocked tree are a nuisance with fall out!

  4. Oh no, how frustrating is that! I wouldn't expect anything but a purple decorated tree from you, Gail. It's absolutely gorgeous!

    1. Thanks Marie! Yes! I wouldn't feel comfortable if I decorated another color tree. Besides, I have too many ornaments in purple. Lol! And I still haven't switched out the lights yet. There's just too much stuff going on with projects - they all seemed to be due around the same time! And I'm feeling a bit overwhelmed right now.

  5. Your tree is stunning. You can tell each ornament was placed with care, wow. The ornaments with the wide stripe across the middle made me think it was ribbon at first. Nicest tree I have seen in a very long time.

    1. Gee, thank you so much, Leanna! How sweet of you to say that! I've had those ornaments for several years and this is the first time I've put them on a tree. I would always had them in a large vase or platter.

    1. Thanks, Tania! I know exactly what you're saying! There are some purple colors I can't stand, either! Like the ones used for Halloween. That purple is too harsh and ugly! Lol! I guess I'm sounding a bit crazy right now!

  7. Love the shades of purple against the white flocked tree. The topper is my favorite part of the tree.

    1. Thanks, Erlene! The topper is very old! It's hard finding purple ornaments these past few years!
