Autumn Garland

I bought an autumn garland last year on clearance at Michaels for 80 percent off.  It was well after Thanksgiving so I didn't get a chance to use it. The garland of rust and orange leaves was rather plain but who could resist the price of a couple of dollars for that?   I've never worked with Deco Mesh so I decided to try my hand at using it on the garland.  I chosed an ivory shade that had gold threads running through it to offset the rust and orange leaves.  I watched a video online and basically you have to use twist ties to attach the mesh and then pouf and tie along the entire area.

The Deco Mesh seemed to have a mind of its' own and I had to twist the leaves up as I moved along the garland

I decided to switch out my dining room area where I have a buffet that belonged to my mother-in-law. I was using it to display family photos.  It's a great spot to put the garland and other fall items.

Before  (My mother-in-law painted this picture of a field of flowers)

After  (I did this pictures many years ago using sponges and acrylic paint)

I love moving things around for a fresh new look.

But, I'm not done yet  .   .   .

Enjoy!

  2. Hi Gail - it looks great. I have trouble getting the deco mesh to move the way I want it also. I usually land up tucking and pinning it into place.
