Pumpkin Floral Accent Piece

Welcome to the Pinterest Challenge Blog Hop hosted by Erlene @ My Pinterventures.  If you aren't familiar with the Pinterest Challenge, it's a monthly event that challenges us to not just be pin hoarders, but to make it happen by creating a few!

This month's challenge is all about Thanksgiving projects and recipes. Most of us have been thinking about Thanksgiving and how different it will be this year because of the pandemic. Fortunately, that hasn't stopped us from decorating our homes as usual. I love adding different types of decorated pumpkins around my home for Fall and Thanksgiving. I've always admired seeing pumpkins adorned with lots of faux flowers and stems on top and found a few that I loved on Pinterest. But this particular pin inspired me the most. I love that it's white and uses non-traditional colors like purple!

For this project, I shopped my stash to create a floral accent piece. I've had this pumpkin for a number of years. When I first got the pumpkin, I used traditional colors to decorate it.

The pumpkin is huge compared to most faux pumpkins - almost 21 inches wide by 12.5 inches tall. And I love the deep grooved segments it has! Here are some of the flowers and stems I found in my stash to use. Don't you just love the colors! Most floral pumpkins have the tops cut off or a block of foam attached in the middle to insert the stems, but I decided not to make a hole or cut off the top. I love the natural look of the pumpkin and I wanted to keep it that way.  The pumpkin was tall and deep enough in the center to hot glue the florals on

So I started piling the flowers and stems on top starting with the larger pieces - arranging and re-arranging them to get the best design.

Then I began gluing on the pieces for a semi-permanent bond. It's easy to undo items that are hot glued on just by prying the glue up and off.
The design is really coming together.

The floral pumpkin really brightens up the area by the fireplace - blending in perfectly with my decor.

    1. Thanks, Jenny! It's such a warm shade that isn't harsh and doesn't jump out at you like some of the purples used for Halloween.

  12. You will almost certainly make a sale if a consumer knows what they want and comes to your store or visits your website knowing you have it. Companies that sell items in a typical shop utilize sophisticated packing strategies already: packaging is their consumer contact. Polyester film manufacturer can be advantages for those companies.
