Horchow online has a wonderful selection of one of a kind Christmas items along with one of a kind prices. I came across these "Red Felt Christmas Trees and knew I could duplicate them (at least in appearance) for a fraction of the cost. They are listed for $265.00 for three.

The trees are made by artisans of India, handcrafted of felted wool. They were created by overlapping red leaves on cone shapes. How easy is that in the world of crafting? I won't bore you to death with a tutorial. We've all seen lots of cone shaped trees made out of burlap, sheet music, cardboard, ribbon or what have you. It's all a matter of when you see something that's interesting or that you like, and you look at the outrageous price and decide, "I'M GONNA MAKE ONE OF THESE."

Oh Gail that's fabulous! Wouldn't you feel like a fool to pay such a price for their trees! Yours look just like theirs and I have to say they are one of my favorite versions of some of these cone trees I've seen lately! Kudos!

ReplyDeleteAn artificial tree is a better option as it can be used over and over again every year while still having the brand new look when it was first bought. Times are tough in this economy so there is no need to buy a real tree every year and spend hundreds of dollars when an artificial one can be recycled for use. An artificial tree is also cost effective as it does not need to be watered and once bought it does not need to be transferred from place to place as with a real tree. Artificial trees can be kept up as long as possible for those who are attached to the holidays but real ones rot and may have to be taken down immediately after the holiday season.Visit Artificial Christmas Trees website for more details.
