Bright eyed and smiling!
I started with a large plain pumpkin I got last year at Hobby Lobby at the end of the season for 80% off. I picked up three at that price.
I can't draw so I enlarge a face pattern I found online and tried to trace it on the pumpkin. There are too many ridges for the carbon to take so I had to cut out the eyes and trace around them using a sharpie paint pen.
I started filling in the black portion of the eyes . . .
While the paint was drying, I attached fiber-fill stuffed socks from the dollar store for legs to the bottom of the pumpkin. I also tied raffia to the ends of the socks.
I made arms out of stuffed scrap fabric and wire and poked them into the sides of the pumpkin sealing with hot glue.
