Fringed Burlap Ribbon Pumpkin

It's that time of the year when we go crazy for pumpkins.  Time to create and have fun at the annual Primp Your Pumpkin party!  This year I'm doing something rustic and different.  I had a roll of burlap fringed ribbon from last year that I've been eager to use. Problem is I couldn't find anymore just like it to finish my project.  Hence the two different colors.

This is what I did with the burlap ribbon:

                                                          
                                                              After cutting the ribbon into twelve inch strips, I pulled the middle thread on one end . . .

 

and then pulled the same thread on the opposite end gathering the fabric,

 

 

bringing both ends together, tying the threads to form a rustic fringed flower.

 

Cut off the hanging string and pull off any loose threads for a clean look.

 

Next, I hot glued the flowers, alternating colors, onto the pumpkin, following the center ridge of the dollar store pumpkin to keep the placement straight.

                 Continue gluing on the flowers following like colors.

Added a stem by rolling the two colors together and gluing on top .
