How to Make an Adorable Goody Basket With Ribbon and Bow

With the holidays and entertaining upon us, here's a fun and easy way to turn a plastic cup into an adorable goody basket with ribbon and bow! Handmade goody baskets that doubles as beautiful table favors you can easily make yourself! And the best part, any occasion is a good reason to make them - especially when done in Purple, lol! So let's get started!

Supplies:

• Clear Plastic Cup -16oz.
• Box cutter/Scissors
• Magic Marker
• Quick Hold Glue (makers of E6000)
• Clamps
• 3/8" Ribbon
• 1.5" Ribbon
• Mini Bowdabra and Wand
• Bowdabra Hair Bow Tool and Ruler
• Bowdabra Bow Wire

How to:

First, using a box cutter, cut off the top area of the plastic cup where the indentations are. 

   Then cut off the top ring which .  .  .

will become the handle!

Now think of a clock, and lightly make marks on the cup top with a marker in the 12, 6, 3, 9, positions first, then in between for a total of eight marks.

Start at the 12 o'clock position and add a diagonal line of quick hold glue . . .

placing a strip of 3/8" ribbon over the glue and smoothing the ribbon out.

Continue adding glue on all the top marks equally on the diagonal to add the strips of ribbon. Once all the ribbon strips are dry, cut off the excess ribbon ends on the top and bottom.

  

Next, run a line of glue from the top of a ribbon strip down across the strip to the left all the way to the bottom of the next strip.  Apply a ribbon strip on top of the glue for a criss-cross look.  Do this for all the eight strips of ribbon.

Finish the look by gluing on strips of ribbon around the top of the plastic cup  .  . .

and around the bottom.

Attach the handle by cutting open the plastic ring and applying glue to the inside of the cup at the 3 and 9 marks.

Use clamps to hold the ends of the handle in place until dry.

To add a decorative bow, cut an 18" piece of Bowdabra bow wire, and fold it in half. Lay the folded bow wire in the Mini Bowdabra, tucking loop and ends under. Take an 8″ strip of 1.5" ribbon, pinching the ribbon in the middle and . . .

inserting it down into the Mini Bowdabra for the bow tails.  

Leave the ribbon on the roll and pinching the end and placing it down into the Mini Bowdabra. Then fold over the ribbon making a 2" loop, twisting the ribbon down into the Mini Bowdabra. 

                                       

Then, fold over the ribbon creating a 2" loop, twisting the ribbon down into the Mini Bowdabra on the opposite side. 

Use the Mini Bowdabra wand to crunch down the the center of the bow and  cutting off excess ribbon.                                           

While the bow is still in the Mini Bowdabra, thread the two loose ends of the bow wire through the loop, pulling tightly while gently pulling the bow out. Tie bow wire around to the back cutting off excess wire. Then fluff and straighten the bow!

 Dovetail the ends by folding the ends together and cutting at an angle from the fold down to the opposite end.

Attach the gorgeous bow to the top center of the goody basket using quick dry glue.  Have fun creating beautiful goody basket table favors filled with small treats or gifts.

How to Make a Rope Pumpkin with Bows

Have I got a cool way of making an adorable rope pumpkin using the Bowdabra - a bow making tool! This delightful, decorative rope pumpkin is made using sisal rope wrapped around the Bowdabra tower into circles tied together and glued to a stem. And accented with large poofy bows! What a fun and easy way to decorate for Fall, Halloween and Thanksgiving!

Materials:

• Sisal rope (50 yd roll)
• Bowdabra and wand
• Bowdabra bow wire
• Craft scissors
• Stem (from tree limb cut to 8")
• Hot glue gun, glue sticks
• Ribbon (2.5")

How To:

Insert an 18″ piece of bow wire folded in half into the Bowdabra, tucking ends under. Unroll one end of the rope and begin coiling it around the Bowdabra tower.

Continue coiling the rope on top of each other five times.

Cut the end of the rope with craft scissors and remove from the Bowdabra tower.

Secure the rope circle by tightly tying a piece of bow wire around the rope. Repeat the steps to create four more rope coils.

Place a blob of hot glue against the back of the tied coils and secure to the stem.  

Repeat for all the rope coils to .  .  .

create a pumpkin shape around the stem.

Uncoil about 36" of sisal rope and  .  .  .

wrap one section around the glued rope coils and stem. Secure with hot glue.

To Make the Bow

Insert an 18″ piece of bow wire folded in half into the Bowdabra, tucking ends under.  Take a 10″ strip of ribbon and pinch the ribbon strip in the middle and insert down into the Mini Bowdabra for the bow tails.  Dovetail the ends by folding the ends together and cutting at an angle from the fold down to the opposite end. 

Leaving the ribbon on the roll, pinch one end and place it down into the Bowdabra. Make a 4" loop by folding and twisting the ribbon down into the Bowdabra.

Repeat folding and twisting the ribbon down into the Bowdabra to make a 4" loop on the opposite side.

Continue making two more loops on either side for a total of four, 4" loops.  Make a button loop to cover the bow wire, cutting off the excess ribbon.  

 Scrunch the ribbon down with the Bowdabra wand.

While the bow is still in the Bowdabra, thread the loose ends of the bow wire through the loop and pull tight while gently pulling the bow out. Make a second bow following the same steps for the first bow.

Fluff and attach the bows on opposite sides of the stem using hot glue.

Make a Super Cute Cornucopia and Bow Table Decoration for Fall

 With holiday gatherings near, here's an easy and quick DIY on how to make a super cute Cornucopia and Bow Table Decoration for Fall! Impress your family and friends with this lovely decorative piece. Imagine it overflowing with seasonal items such as leaves, acorns, nuts, candies and other goodies! The possibilities are endless! 

Supplies Used:

• Burlap paper 12"x12"
• Glue
• Measuring tape
• Scissors
• Wired Ribbon 2.5" wide
• Clamps
• Mini Bowdabra, Tool and Ruler, Wand
• Bowdabra Bow Wire

Instructions:

Start with a sheet of burlap paper 12"x12"

Grasp one of the pointed corners facing up, and roll together the burlap paper into a cone shape, with the bottom forming a point.

Once you line up the burlap edges and point into a cone, run glue along the edges where they overlap to hold the cone in place, to make .  .  . 

 the cornucopia shape.

To dress up the cornucopia with ribbon, take a 50" piece of wired ribbon and . . .

fold together lengthwise. Use clamps to hold ribbon together. Pull the end wire on each side gathering the ribbon into ruffles.

Continue pulling the wires and gathering the ribbon until you have a ruffle long enough to fit around the top inside of the cornucopia cone.

Adjust the wires on both ends of the ribbon ruffle, tie in knot and cut off excess wire and ribbon. Glue on the ruffle around the inside top of cone.

To make the Bowdabra Bow, cut a 15″ piece of Bowdabra wire, fold together and place in the Mini Bowdabra, tucking the ends under. Cut an 18" piece of matching ribbon, creasing the center and place down into the Mini Bowdabra.

Dovetail the ends of the ribbon by folding the ribbon together and cutting at an angle from the fold down to the corner tip.

Next, leave the ribbon on the roll and crease about an inch from the end of the ribbon and insert down into the Mini Bowdabra. Then fold over a four inch loop and press down into the Mini Bowdabra.

Fold the ribbon to make a matching loop on the opposite side, down into the Mini Bowdabra.

Then make two more loops on either side for a total of four loops.  

To finish the bow, make a button loop to cover the bow wire, then scrunch all the loops down using the Mini Bowdabra wand and cut off excess ribbon.

Remove the Mini Bowdabra wand and thread the two loose ends of the bow wire through the loop, pulling tightly and gently pulling it out. Take the bow wire around to the back, tying the wire in two or three tight knots, and cutting off excess wire.

Fluff the bow loops and center button that looks like a ruffle! So cool!

Attach the bow to the center base of the ruffle using glue.

Have fun filling your cornucopia with autumn and fall goodies that will surely impress everyone!
