Winter Snowy Flameless Tealight Candle Holders

Does your home feel bare now that the holidays are over? Many of us are sad that the Christmas decorations are down and put away.  Why wait for the next holiday to spruce up those special areas when you can just decorate for winter.

One way to embrace this chilly season is by adding a warm glow to your winter décor by making a dimensional snowy flameless tealight candleholder.
Here's how:

1.  Using a knife, remove a small end portion from a Styrofoam ball to allow the ball to sit flat.

2.  Trace the base of a flameless tealight or glass votive on the center Styrofoam top.

3.  Use a knife & spoon to remove outlined area.

4.  Insert glass votive or tealight for fit.

5.  Using a plastic knife, coat Styrofoam with Aleene's True Snow or Snow-Tex and allow to dry.

6.  Add additional faux snow paste to top middle area, adding glitter (optional) and allow to dry overnight.

7.  Insert glass votive, tealight and admire your creation!

These winter snowy flameless tealight candleholders look good on their own but would look beautiful within a winterscape or winter wonderland theme.

Take a little time to enjoy

and

Happy Crafting!

  4. So cute! You are right, these would be a good transition from Christmas into just a winter decoration. They could be put on Pinterest (like I am going to do) and remember to make them for the holidays 2015 too.

  6. My dear Gail, your candle holders are truly a work of art! If you hadn't of shown us how to make them than I would have never guessed they were made from a styrofoam ball. Beautiful, absolutely beautiful!

  8. Gail, these are AWESOME!!! I do have a question though. Do you know if the snow tex can be tinted??? I'm planning my wedding for March and thought these would be gorgeous for centerpieces, but my colors are ivory, deep blue and dark forest green (it's a Celtic themed wedding.) If the snow tex CAN be tinted, I've just found my centerpieces!!! Thanks for posting.

  21. I could use some pretty snowball candles on my dining table this week. My snowman table is set in the kitchen (so much fun to create) and I am working on a snowy table for the dining room. Hubby adores the snow theme and wants it to stay that way until March. Thank you for the inspiration..... Candy
