It's Day 10 and we're sharing a Holiday Table Setting!
This holiday table setting showcases my favorite Christmas colors of purple hues!
It's only natural for me to have a Christmas Holiday tablescape color scheme using these colors . For me, it's so warm and inspiring and works well with all of my décor.

It's also very unconventional.
How about the purple crystal tree placed in the center! It's so adorable, don't you think?
It's handmade using a Styrofoam cone from the dollar store. I painted it purple . . .
a nd then glued on purple crystals. Around and around . . .

until reaching the top. Love how they intertwine!
So pretty, don't you think?
A frilly purple tablecloth is the perfect backdrop for this unusual holiday tabletop theme.
And a mixture of new and traditional pieces to create an interesting table setting!

Perfect for adding holiday cheer to the table!

Ruffle Foam Sheet Wreath DIY

Twelve Days of Christmas

Ruffled Foam Sheet Wreath DIY

This is a re-post from a few years ago. It was originally posted in a 12 Days of Christmas Blog Hop.

I'm sharing with you how to make an elegant looking wreath for the holidays using foam sheets and glitter.  This is totally a diy craft starting with a plain Styrofoam wreath, punching out circles of foam sheets, turning the circles into ruffles using an iron, sprinkling the glue coated edges with glitter and finally gluing the ruffles on to the Styrofoam wreath with hot glue.  That's all it takes to make this easy beautiful ruffled foam sheet wreath!

Let's begin by punching out about seventy-five 3" circles. I used a 3" circle puncher.

Next, sandwich the circles between two sheets of parchment paper and place a hot iron on top for 15 seconds.

Push the top sheet away to reveal the circle curved as pictured.

Quickly pick up the circle, holding in the center. Take other hand (fingers) and gently squeeze ends together into a ruffle shape. Hold and let cool for a few seconds.

Continue heating and shaping circles into ruffles until you have made at least 75 ruffles. You may need more depending on how you place them together on the Styrofoam wreath.

Next, sprinkle glitter on a flat paper plate. Paint mod podge on the edges of the ruffles and scoop the ruffle edges into the glitter. Let ruffles dry on parchment paper. Hot glue the ruffles onto the wreath, filling along the top first and then the sides. You will notice that the ruffles will intertwine with one another in placement.

Continue gluing on the ruffles until .  .  .

the wreath is completely covered.

To complete the look, make a bow using the Mini Bowdabra to add!

Begin by folding 18 inches of Bowdabra bow wire in half, and placing it in the Mini Bowdabra, tucking ends under.  To make your first loop, make a four inch fold of ribbon and press into the Mini Bowdabra.

Next, fold the other side at the same width for the next loop. Ribbon tails should be down and below your loops.

Make two more additional loops in the same manner, one side at a time for a total of four loops. Scrunch down ribbon using the Mini Bowdabra wand. Cut the tail ends at a angle.

While the bow is still in the Mini Bowdabra, push the loose ends of the bow wire through the loop, pulling tightly and gently pulling the bow out, tying the wires  in a knot in the back. Fluff the bow .  .  .

and attach to wreath with a glue dot.

It's Day 5 and we're sharing Dollar Store Crafts

Don't you just love it when you can get items from the dollar store to make decorations for the holidays!

You've seen them all over the dollar store, hanging on clip strips, in several colors like purple, gold, red and green! You know what I'm talking about! FLORAL WIRE! Yes, floral wire! How cute would it be just to make simple spiral wire trees like these?

You won't believe how easy it is using a cardboard cone tree shape.

Here's how:

Remove the wire from the package. Leave the coil just as it is. The floral wire is already coiled in the shape you need.

Take a small cone tree and lay the coiled wire over onto the base.

Pick up the end closest to the top and gently pull up to the tip of the cone.

Now gently take your hands and tighten the coiled around the cone, pressing inward and around, maintaining the wire coil.

You can gently tighten the top end wire closer to the tip, and level out the spirals. That's it!

A spiral wire tree!

Make several to use in your holiday décor .  .  .

or add additional items like these tiny snowflakes for a decorative effect!

Pom Pom Bottle Snowman

Welcome to the third annual 12 Days of Christmas Blog Hop!
I've teamed up with a wonderful group of talented bloggers to bring to your our best Christmas ideas to help make your holiday season festive and fun! Everyday between Dec. 1-12th, we will share ideas ranging from crafts, recipes, games, décor, tree trimming and so much more! Be sure to stop by every day during this event to visit each and every one of our fellow bloggers below for even more creative ideas to make your holiday season brighter.

It's Day 3 and we're sharing a Snowman Craft!

I love recycling items to make crafts! It's such an inexpensive way to create something adorable by reusing items destined for the trash bin! And it was so much fun making this snowman using a Pom Pom bottle!

Doesn't the bottle already look like a snowman? You bet!
With a few quick changes and additions, it was an easy transformation!
To begin, clean the bottle with soap and water and let dry. Remove the neck of the bottle using a hot knife or craft knife.

Next, spray paint with white primer to cover up the lettering and let dry. You can also add small rocks or sand through the opening if you want to weigh down the bottle.
Then, glue on a Styrofoam ball for the head that's slightly smaller than the bottle. Using a sponge brush, dab on acrylic or chalk paint all over to give a textured effect.
Draw on the mouth using a Sharpie, add small wood branches for the arms by punching tiny holes on the sides, to fit the branches in, and hot glue in place.
To make the hat, roll a strip of stiff black felt around the head to measure size, cut off excess and glue ends together. Lay end opening on stiff felt and cut out a circle. Glue circle to one end of felt cylinder.
Cut a larger felt circle for the brim. Then cut slits from the center of the circle to where you want the brim to start. Insert brim into the open end of hat and glue down the slits inside.

Continue having fun adding embellishments to complete make your snowman to look festive! Just use your imagination for the details!
Black beads were glued on for the eyes, and the tip of a styrofoam cone painted orange, for the nose. Other embellishments included a ribbon neck scarf and trim on the hat, and red thumb tacks for a decorative touch on the front.

A Winter Wonderland Snowman!
