Every month a group of bloggers are challenged by C'mon Get Crafty to create a new craft or project from their own stash of goodies!
Spring is almost here and Easter is just around the corner, so for this challenge I'm once again using paper napkins (like I did here last month) but this time I decoupage napkins to eggs for a beautiful decorative look for Easter!
It's a fun and easy DIY craft to make and it's quite a popular Easter project this time of year! It's so much prettier than dyed eggs! But the best part, I had everything I needed to make these in my stash!
Materials
- Faux eggs (white)
- Printed paper napkins
- Small scissors
- Mod Podge decoupage glue
- Soft bristles paint brush
- Cardboard tube/craft knife
Here's how:
- Cut out designs from printed napkins using small scissors. Separate the printed layer from the white layers.
- Paint a thin layer of decoupage glue on a white or painted white egg, and then lay the cut-out design on top, smoothing out from the center of the design out to the edges with a paint brush. You can also use your finger dipped in decoupage glue to remove any wrinkles. Let dry.
- Add additional napkin designs as desired following the same previous steps.
- Seal with additional decoupage glue to the entire egg and let dry.
- Make egg stands by cutting small pieces from a empty cardboard roll.
- Have fun cutting out additional decorative napkin designs to decoupage on eggs!

Gail, you always do amazing crafts with napkins. Your eggs look wonderful. What a pretty display for Easter. Pinning.
ReplyDeleteThese are GORGEOUS!!!!!
ReplyDeleteGail, I am just about to sit down in my craft room and make decoupage eggs. How fun we've had the same idea. I am choosing a different design, though. I hope I can share my tutorial this Thursday at my friend Yamis Look For Less Video Challenge on YouTube. Wish me luck! Also, I love your idea with the cardboard stands. I'll bring it to use and make sure everyone knows I've had this inspiration from you. Pinning!
ReplyDeleteMe encanta decorar huevos. Te han quedado muy lindos.

I love that you were able to make such beautiful eggs with faux eggs and paper napkins! Gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteThese eggs are lovely! I love that you used napkins to decorate these eggs! Pretty!
ReplyDeleteSo pretty - where do you get your beautiful napkins? I was looking for some spring napkins but all I can find are ones with eggs or bunnies!
ReplyDeleteBesides the usual places like Tuesday Morning and the Christmas Tree Shops, I found a page on Facebook called Napkin World. She gets a lot of her designs from overseas (I've gotten from there, too) and sells a nice variety on Ebay. The prices are quite reasonable.
DeleteTe han quedado de maravilla Gail !!!!!!!! las servilletas son muy lindas .
ReplyDeleteBesos
This is a great idea and makes the eggs very unique and original.
ReplyDeleteYour eggs are gorgeous! *pinning* In 2017, I was playing with Romanov inspired eggs and still have quite a few that were blown and then dyed in Easter colors. This would be a fun way update them for this year. Do you think the Easter Egg dye would smear with the decoupage glue? -Marci @ Stone Cottage Adventures
ReplyDeleteYes, I think the dye would smear when you brush on the glue. Try sealing one of the dyed egg first with a non-toxic varnish or something like that and see what happens when you add the decoupage glue after it dries.
DeleteGail they are beautiful! Much prettier with the florals on the napkins cut out than decoupaging the napkin in strips. Definitely want to try this :)
ReplyDeleteYour eggs are beautiful and of course purple! Thanks for sharing them with Creatively Crafty Craft Challenge Link Up,
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful and simple way to make fancy looking Easter eggs!
ReplyDeleteI love your creativity Gail. Those eggs would make a perfect Easter center piece. Thanks for sharing them on Sunday's Best. I'll be featuring them.
ReplyDeleteLove how these eggs turned out. I want to make some too.
ReplyDeleteHappy Easter,
