This month's challenge is all about Thanksgiving projects and recipes. Most of us have been thinking about Thanksgiving and how different it will be this year because of the pandemic. Fortunately, that hasn't stopped us from decorating our homes as usual. I love adding different types of decorated pumpkins around my home for Fall and Thanksgiving. I've always admired seeing pumpkins adorned with lots of faux flowers and stems on top and found a few that I loved on Pinterest. But this particular pin inspired me the most. I love that it's white and uses non-traditional colors like purple!
For this project, I shopped my stash to create a floral accent piece. I've had this pumpkin for a number of years. When I first got the pumpkin, I used traditional colors to decorate it.
The pumpkin is huge compared to most faux pumpkins - almost 21 inches wide by 12.5 inches tall. And I love the deep grooved segments it has! Here are some of the flowers and stems I found in my stash to use. Don't you just love the colors! Most floral pumpkins have the tops cut off or a block of foam attached in the middle to insert the stems, but I decided not to make a hole or cut off the top. I love the natural look of the pumpkin and I wanted to keep it that way. The pumpkin was tall and deep enough in the center to hot glue the florals on
So I started piling the flowers and stems on top starting with the larger pieces - arranging and re-arranging them to get the best design.
Now, let's see what the other hosts have created ⇓⇓
